GÂTO & Co is a start-up UK dessert brand founded in 2016 by two friends Charlotte and Kim. They appeared on Dragon’s Den in 2018 seeking investment because they were fed up of healthy or free-from snacks being free-from flavour or joy but in an unexpected twist, the two entrepreneurs famously and bravely declined the joint offer of £50k from dragon’s Touker Suleyman and Tej Lalvani. Since then, they have secured private investment and now supply their indulgent plant-powered vegan treats nationwide to Sainsbury’s, Whole Foods, As Nature Intended, Fortnum & Mason and Ocado.
One Friday night, I received an email from a very excited co-founder of GÂTO & Co , Charlotte Dauzat asking if there was a slim chance that I could help her by urgently creating an online shop for their business on their existing Squarespace website as they had just been informed that their episode of Dragon’s Den will be aired on TV on Sunday!
Excited by the prospect of supporing such ambitious entrepreneurs, I jumped at the chance and closely following their brand guidelines as well as the look and feel of their existing website, I spent the next 48hrs creating their online shop.
We launched the shop just in time for the episode to be aired on Sunday night in preparation for online orders made following the broadcast of the show! They were a fabulous bunch of ladies to work with as they had a clear and focused vision on what they were after to enable me to deliver this last minute project.
